Cynthia Boland

I am the K-12 Spanish teacher at Maxwell Schools. I teach Elementary Spanish, Jr High Intro to Spanish, Spanish I, II, III and IV. I enjoy this language very much and our school. I love watching and helping students acquire Spanish as well as gain skills in reading, writing and speaking. I especially enjoy encouraging students to be the best version of themselves.

My husband Doug and I live south of North Platte on an acreage where we have raised 4 boys, 3 are alumni of Maxwell Schools. We also have 2 daughters-in-law, whom we adore. Our youngest is a Senior this year, so changes are happening in our household. We enjoy our country life breeding heifers, selling mineral, feed, liquid nitrogen and working with cattle. A super cool thing we do is make dessert toppings called Cynfull Sauces that are sold across the state. Our family also includes 4 dogs and 8 quarter horses that keep us busy training, riding and feeding!

I wasn't a huge fan of school during my high school years as I attended such a large district. I truly enjoy our smaller school at Maxwell where everyone is a family, or will be! I have lost count of the students I have "adopted" who hold a very special place in my heart over the past 13 years since I began my career here in 2003.

I graduated from NPHS in 1986 and went to Doane College, and then to Western Governors University. I have 2 Bachelor's Degrees and a Master's of Education. Teaching has become my life and my passion.

Feel free to stop in to see my room or catch a class in action!
