Create Parent Account for Canvas

Canvas Learning Management System

 

This is a guide intended to help you create parental accounts for Canvas Learning Management System. It will allow you to follow, and help your child as they go through school.

 

The Canvas Learning Management System parental account - Parents (Observers) can link their Canvas account to their student's account so they can see assignment dues dates, announcements, and other course content.

 

  1. Email jlavaley@maxwellschools.org for your child’s login information.

  2. Type/copy into the URL bar or click link - https://maxwellschools.instructure.com/login/canvas

  3. A login screen should appear.  In the upper Right corner will be a phrase that states “Click Here For an Account”

  1. Click that link.

  1. You will need your child’s username and password.  You will obtain that when you email jlavaley@maxwellschools.org.

  2. Fill (a) your name, (b) your email, (c) child’s username, and (d) child’s password.

  1. Make sure to check the “You agree” Box.

  1. You should be ready to go and can follow your child through their course to see due dates, assignments, etc.
