Bio: Dr. Lavaley is originally from Sutherland, NE ('99). Upon graduating from high school, Dr. Lavaley attended Hastings College where he participated on the football team and earned Honorable Mention All-American honors along with All-Conference and Academic All-American honors. After graduating from HC ('04), Dr. Lavaley married his wife, Laura, and took a teaching position at Wood River Rural High School for a year, but then he decided to continue his education, at which point he decided to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic ('07) and opened a chiropractic practice in Hastings, NE. While running his practice, Dr. Lavaley resumed his coaching career at Hastings College ('07) and Doniphan-Trumbull High School ('08-'16). His passion for education began to come back. Dr. Lavaley accepted a teaching at Doniphan-Trumbull High School in 2011, where he taught Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Life Science, Medical Terminology, and was the Activities Director. Dr. Lavaley and his family decided to move back home and are extremely excited to have the opportunity to be in the Maxwell community.
Dr. and Laura Lavaley have two children, Hayden and Bransen.
